Michigan Copper Nugget Necklace

$90.00

Title
Description

Copper has been a Michigan treasure for years, with many Upper Peninsula towns and cities rising and falling with its value. Even more treasured is its copper. Centuries of ice ages, volcanic activity, and erosion have created large pieces of pure copper that "float" free of surrounding rock formations. Each copper nugget has a strikingly organic appearance, with a form that is entirely its own; no two pieces are alike.

These unique necklaces are made from copper sourced near the Ontonagon river and set on copper chains. Created for Peninsulas by Detroit-based jewelry maker Bethany Shorb of Well Done Goods.
