Hooded Merganser Patch

These small ducks with yellow eyes light up winter birding on freshwater ponds and protected saltwater bays. The males fan their distinctive black-and-white crests while courting the cinnamon-brown females.

In the summer they nest in tree cavities, and their ducklings depart the nest by jumping all the way down to the ground within 24 hours of hatching.

Bird Collective will donate 20% of the profits from this patch to support Alabama Audubon as it works to protect the waters of Alabama where Belted Kingfishers reside year-round.

This embroidered bird patch has an iron-on backing, but the adhesive is temporary. For durability, we recommend swing or using a permanent, flexible fabric glue.
