Michigan Foragers' Paradise T-Shirt
Sizing Guide
Description
Every May, both locals and out-of-state foragers converge on our state’s forests, baskets and nature guides in tow, hunting for a famous Michigan delicacy: the morel mushroom. But it’s not just morels that grace Michigan’s rich soil. Look closely, and you’ll find fiddleheads and leeks in the spring, blueberries and cattail roots in the summer, and cranberry and amaranth in the fall, just to name a few. No matter the season, Michigan is overflowing with nutritious, flavorful native plants.
With this in mind, it’s no wonder why Kelly Golden chose the moniker “Foragers' Paradise” for her design celebrating the morel mushroom. Kelly Golden, a Michigan-based artist, has been working professionally as a muralist and sign painter since 2010. Learn more about Kelly and her work at kellygoldensigns.com.

*A word of caution in this tried-and-true saying: There are old mushroom hunters and bold mushroom hunters, but never old, bold mushroom hunters. Or, as the DNR say, “Know what you are eating! You will need to know the difference between a ‘true’ morel and the ‘false morels,’ such as beefsteak mushrooms, which are poisonous.”
