Tourist Empire Kraft Postcard

$1.00

Description
At the turn of the 20th century, there was no single entity promoting Michigan tourism. Various steamship and railroad lines, as well as hotels and resorts promoted the areas they served.

In 1917, the West Michigan Tourist Association was formed by Hugh Gray. Under his guidance and untiring enthusiasm, the tourist industry of West Michigan grew bit by bit, then by leaps and bounds — becoming the second-largest industry in the state.

This image pays homage to Hugh Gray and everyone who promotes this great state as a tourist destination.

Well done, Mr. Gray. You were “Pure Michigan” before your time.

Send Great Lakes greetings to friends and relatives near and far with our Tourist Empire Kraft Postcard!
